Mr. Seydou Doumbia is 43 years old and lives in a polygamous family with his six children and two wives in the Banankabougou neighbourhood, part of the Fana sous-préfecture, in the second administrative region of the Republic of Mali.Mr. Seydou left school in the sixth grade (Mali education system) to embark on revenue-generating activities, in particular the commerce of cereals.Seydou is quite in demand and has acquired a solid reputation in buying and selling cereals. With an eye on satisfying his ever-increasing customer base, he decided to join the Soro Yiriwaso MFI where he is at his fifth loan request, having correctly reimbursed the four previous ones. He wants to use this loan to buy eight tons of dry cereal (fonio, peanuts, beans, millet, and corn). He gets his supplies locally at reasonable prices, in the town of Fana and in surrounding villages, and resells them when the products have increased in value. His store is located at the major market of Fana, and his customers are mainly resellers from the large cities. He hopes to reach an average monthly profit of 50,000 FCFA, which will be used for family expenses and the remainder invested in his business.
