Olga Amada Guevara Carrasco is 52 years old, married, and lives with her husband and nine children. She had 12 children but only 11 are alive because one died when thieves robbed and killed him while he was returning from his job in Quito one night. This member belongs to the rural communal bank "San Jose de las Orquideas" which is located 15 minutes from the city of San Miguel in the community of San Jose de Palmas. Most people in the community are farmers whose principal crops are potatoes and corn. Olga does housework. She cooks, irons, cleans, and takes care of the children who are at home. She also helps her husband with his work in the fields. Her husband plants corn, potatoes, beans, peas, wheat, and barely. They take their products to the fairs in San Pablo y San Miguel. Olga is asking for the loan to buy fertilizers to plant corn. Her goal is to help her children get ahead in their lives and studies. In her free time, she likes to make food and salads (from their harvests) for her children.
