Our members belong to the SARCANGEL GABRIEL⬝ Community Bank in Cusco and are engaged in retail businesses. Some of them are teachers, mostly at the preschool and elementary level. There is also a small group of lawyers as well as grocery store owners and a bakery owner; one member owns a shoe store specializing in orthopedic shoes, and one member is a hospital nurse. Juan Obispo Meléndez has been in Arariwa for 8 months; he belongs to the Arcángel Gabriel Communal Bank. He has been in business for 2 years. The loan was of great help to him, as he was able to increase the merchandise he offers at his grocery store by paying his suppliers in cash. He tells us that he has been able to buy staples, such as rice, sugar, milk and oil, among others. He understands his business well and likes to be able to provide his clients with what they need. He is also hoping to buy additional products to sell in bulk. Our members are grateful for the opportunity and promise to pay back the loan according to the payment schedule.
