DANIEL RADCLIFFE has said he is "delighted" that the final Harry Potter film has been recognised in the Baftas 2012 nominations.
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part Two, the last instalment of the popular series about the boy wizard, received four nods.
Announcing the shortlist at Bafta in Piccadilly, along with Great Expectations actress Holliday Grainger and Bafta chairman Tim Corrie, Daniel said: "I think they absolutely deserve to be there and I really hope they'll win."
He added: "It's lovely to have a year when it's not like when (James Cameron movie) Avatar was just going to walk away with everything.
"It's a really diverse grouping of lots of very, very different styles of films, so it's a good year for cinema."
Co-presenter Holliday said: "I think it's so important to acknowledge good filmmaking. I think the awards this year are great because it's important to acknowledge British film, but it's great to acknowledge films in there from all over the world, particularly with The Artist and it having so many nominations, it's fantastic."
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy producer Tim Bevan said he was taking his children to school when he "got a nice email" to say the film had 11 nominations.
He said: "I'm very glad that the film had been nominated for best director. Any film is the vision of a director, and that's particularly so with this movie, so Tomas Alfredson deserves the accolade."
Bevan said he was not disappointed that the film had not done better at award ceremonies in the US. He said: "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is a particularly British cultural phenomenon. It's great that it's being recognised at the Baftas but that it hasn't at the Golden Globes is not surprising."
