Comic Book Bites: Hack/Slash, Deadpool, The Walking Dead

TALK of an adaptation to film has been ongoing almost since the first issue of Hack/Slash hit the shelves back in 2004, and after multiple changes to would-be directors and production companies, the Image Comic's cult hit is finally cutting to the chase.

Marcus Nispel - from last year's forgettable Conan remake - is now officially onboard as director of the Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli created title, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Nispel was also the man behind the lens of the Friday the 13th and Texas Chainsaw Massacre updates. Obviously no stranger to the slasher genre, Nispel now gets the chance to tell the story of a killer of killers. Cassie Hack, representing the screaming beauty in every 80s horror flick, is instead the one doing the stalking as she chases down vile murderous bad guys reminiscent of classic greats like Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger.

Along with her oversized, disfigured partner/henchman Vlad, Cassie cuts a bloody path full of action, humor and gore-filled entertainment deserving of a shot at the big screen.

Relativity Media is producing and although there is no news on casting, last year saw a strong push from web geeks around the world - who created sites like allisonscag4cassie.com - for Syfy's twenty-something darling Allison Scagliotti to fill the lead role. Any thoughts on who think should swing Cassie's baseball bat?

Speaking at last week's Amazing Arizona Comic Con, Liefeld told fans: "They've got a great director on the movie, they've got a great script. I may or may have not seen some sort of test footage t...
