BACK in September, Lynda Carter - famed for her iconic portrayal of Wonder Woman in the 70s TV series - gave us her thoughts about plans for a new movie featuring the superheroine.
Since then the concept seems to have morphed into a new TV show, with Ally McBeal showrunner David E. Kelley scripting the pilot and Adrianne Palicki set to wield the golden lasso.
Carter tells the Baltimore Sun she is confident the new show will be a success: "I think it is an amazing role to play. I know she is going to be really nervous about it, just because you would be. But I have a lot of confidence in David Kelley and what he's going to come up with. David Kelley's so talented, and that's really where it needs to be, in the writing.
"I think the story needs to be retold. It needs to have a fresh look at it. It affected a lot of people. I think it's time, I think it's important to have it out there again."
On the casting of Adrianne, the 59-year-old legend says: "I would never offer her any advice. Nor would she probably want any. She's an actress and she's a good actress and she's beautiful, and I hope she kicks b

THE only confirmed member of cast in the next Superman movie is British actor Henry Cavill in the title role but a number of rumours have resurfaced regarding other possible characters.
Three blonde actresses - Rosamund Pike, Diane Kruger and Alice Eve - were reportedly up for General Zod's companion Ursa, even though director Zack Snyder previously said Zod was not in the story and Kruger has repeatedly denied being approached. And then Kevin Costner was linked to a role, widely suspected to be Jonathan Kent.
The latest whisper comes from HeatVision, which is reporting that Viggo Mortensen is a "person of interest" to play Zod, previously portrayed on the big screen by Terence Stamp. No discussions have yet started with the star of Lord of the Rings and The Road, it says.
In addition, Moviehole is hearing Daniel Day-Lewis is being considered for what's assumed to be the same character; elsewhere, Gerard Butler has also been mentioned.
Considering Snyder's dismissal of Zod being in the script, it's all rather curious. And surely it's time for new villains from Superman's vast comic book rogues' gallery, rather than rehashing one already seen on the big screen and in Smallville?
But such are the weird workings of Hollywood and, in that same vein, Deadline is

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are to appear at the MCM Expo London Comic-Con, which takes place at ExCel London on May 27 to 29.
Miller and Stentz (pictured above) also collaborated on the screenplay of another soon-to-be released comic book film, Thor, starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins.
The duo also share writing and production credits on hit sci-fi shows such as Fringe, Andromeda and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
"We're delighted that Ashley and Zack will be part of our X-Men: First Class panel," said MCM Expo co-organiser Bryan Cooney.
"As London's Comic-Con we play host to tens of thousands of comic book and film fans, so to have the writers of two of the biggest superhero movies of 2011 at the show is perfect."
"Only last week we announced Green Lantern as the MCM Expo's official title sponsor, and the addition of two such talented writers helps ensure this May's show will be one to remember."
A prequel to the popular superhero franchise from Marvel and Twentieth Century Fox, X-Men: First Class focuses on the relationship between Professor X (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and the origin of their groups, the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants.
