Microfinance - Edith : Peru

photo $200 of $425 raised.

Started raising funds on Feb 20, 2010

Edith is 34 years old and married to 40 year old Jose. They live in their own home, inherited from her parents, with their three children: Eduardo, age 17; Frits, age 14; and Cristian, age 11.For the past two years she has been selling food. What she likes the most is serving children and listening to their conversations and laughter. She started a call center, but she had difficulty maintaining a signal (it worked through the Internet), so she needs a new system. Fortunately, she can count on the help of her two oldest sons. For her, her shop is a way to relax. She is happy to be able to work with and help people. It also provides a good income, which she is using to save for the future. Her oldest son wants to be a doctor and she knows that establishing this career is expensive. This will be her second loan though MFP and she promises to make her payments on time so as not to defraud or degrade the communal bank"s work. A few weeks ago, Edith was working at the weekly fairs held in her city. She wants to take advantage of this and will use the 1,200 PEN ($425) to buy shoes and flip-flops to sell at the fairs.
