This months topic is epigenetics, which refers to changes that stably alter gene activities without changing, or mutating, the DNA sequence of those genes. Like genetic mutations, we now know that epigenetic abnormalities can cause cancers, including blood cancers. And, as with cancer-causing mutations, laboratory and clinical studies are now showing that drugs that target specific epigenetic changes will be powerful treatments for blood cancer patients....
