Cillian Murphy, who recently co-starred in Christopher Nolan's Inception has landed a new acting gig in a British thriller called The Retreat. He will star opposite Thandie Newton (MI2) in the film, which is described as a landlocked “Knife In the Water meets Dead Calm.”
The movie actually sounds pretty cool. "Murphy and Newton will play a husband and wife who rent a remote island cottage while trying to repair their marriage. One day they find a biohazard-suited soldier washed up on the beach, who warns them that everybody on the mainland has been killed by an airborne virus. That’s when the psychological fun-and-games begin..."
Sony Pictures has already acquired the UK rights to the film which is being directed by first time writer/director Carl Tibbetts, who is an editor that has worked on Alien Vs Predator.
