SIX MONTHS ahead of the release of Christopher Nolan's third and final Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, we have been provided with a new look at the caped crusader's costume.
The cover of Entertainment Weekly has a brightly-lit picture of Christian Bale in the character's Batsuit, allowing fans to scrutinise every detail of the design.
Inside the magazine, the actor had this to say about meeting the demands of the fanbase: "I can tell you the truth because I'm done with it: I felt immense pressure.
"And I think it's a good pressure, because you owe it to the films - and the people's expectations - to make great work."
Meanwhile, we have a couple of minor updates on the follow-up to X-Men: First Class, which is in development with Simon Kinberg on script duties.
Jane Goldman, who was a co-writer on First Class, told MTV: "James [McAvoy] and Michael [Fassbender] brought so much to [their characters Xavier and Magneto] that I think it's entirely natural to be talking about where those characters would go next. It was inherent in their stories and their arcs. There are so many interesting places to go."
As for her own involvement, she offered: "It's down to what Matthew [Vaughn] decides to do. If he decides he wants to direct the next one and if he wants me on board, I'm 100 per cent there."
Vaughn and Goldman also collaborated on the film version of Mark Millar's comic Kick-Ass, though it seems they are unlikely to bring Millar's sequel book to the screen.
"I think the only thing that is fairly sure is that right now, Matthew doesn't have any plans to direct it. He and I are not currently talking about writing it either," she tells MTV.
"It may well be that Matthew oversees Kick-Ass 2 in a producer role, and I may also be involved in that capacity. I know that there is somebody that Matthew has been talking to who would be interested in writing and directing that. That would be cool."
