WITH a mask somewhat reminiscent of Rorschach from Watchmen or Kroenen from Hellboy, the mysterious Dr Savior has been unveiled in upcoming horror film Donors.
Behind the mask of the "diabolical" doctor (above) is genre actor/producer DJ Perry. Earlier this year, we brought you the first teaser poster and some cast pictures featuring Perry alongside co-stars French/Philippine beauty Anne Gauthier and former Bond girl Lana Wood (famous for her role as Plenty O'Toole in 1971's Diamonds Are Forever starring Sean Connery), who is playing a character called Norma.
Paisaen Productions in association with Collective Development Inc has today announced that the Charles Pisaeno-directed horror thriller has moved into post-production sound and scoring.
The film, also written by Pisaeno, is about a troubled young woman (Niki Saletta, pictured below) abducted by a mysterious man known as Doctor Savior (DJ Perry).
In desperation the woman seeks to get help by phone but everyone believes she is 'crying wolf' except for a radio talk host (Russ Clark). Can he help or will he be the next victim?
Composing the film will be Dennis Therrian (below), owner of Therrian Productions. His credits include An Ordinary Killer and Ghost Town: The Movie.
A spokesman said: "With dozens of scores under his belt, Dennis is happy to be returning to the horror/thriller genre. His earliest films including Knight Chills and From Venus showcased his ability to build tension on screen and he is excited about the opportunity to score Donors."
DJ Perry was just seen starring in Deadly Renovations and is also in Locked in a Room and Darkest Night, both now playing limited theatrical and festival runs before releasing worldwide.
On the slate of future horror films for Perry is Soul Eater, a prequel to The 8th Plague.
