Marvel's untitled 2014 movie moved to later release date

A MYSTERY Marvel Studios release that was due to hit screens in 2014 has been pushed back to later in the year.

The untitled film - widely expected to be Guardians of the Galaxy - had been due to open on May 16, 2014, the same date as Paramount's new Ninja Turtles, but has today been moved to August 1, 2014.

There's no word yet on the reason for the shuffle but Marvel is expected to announce the name of the film at this month's San Diego Comic-Con.

Marvel's first film for that year is Captain America 2, which is set to debut on April 4, 2014, while Sony's Amazing Spider-Man 2 has booked May 2, 2014, and Fox's untitled X-Men: First Class sequel will launch on July 18, 2014.
