For anime fans, the names Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli carry the kind of prestige that Disney and Pixar do for most other people.
Miyazaki, animation director, has put his name to some of anime's finest titles: Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. Ghibli, the animation studio he founded, has produced not only those titles but a slew of others at least as significant: Grave of the Fireflies, Whisper of the Heart, and many more.
