BEFORE we see Anne Hathaway slip into a skintight bodysuit as a motorcycle-riding, stiletto-heeled Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, she shows a far more tender side in romantic drama One Day.
And with Valentine's Day just around the corner, The Big Picture has fired its Cupid's arrow at the tale of "best friends, regret, missed opportunities and love", which is out on Blu-ray and DVD this week.
Directed by Lone Scherfig (An Education), One Day follows the story of Edinburgh students Emma (Anne Hathaway) and Dexter (Jim Sturgess), who meet on the day of their university graduation, July 15 1988. It catches up with the pair on the same day for the next 20 years as they experience the highs and lows of adulthood both together and apart.
Featuring previously unseen interviews from the press launch, the video embedded below shows stars Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess, screenwriter David Nicholls and director Lone Scherfig talk about working on this big-screen adaptation of Nicholls' popular novel.
Meanwhile, a new survey to mark the arrival of the film in stores found that 20 per cent of men and 18 per cent of women find their true love at university.
The poll of 2,000 graduates from across the UK found that men are more likely to marry their university true love than women (54 per cent). Nearly half of men (47 per cent) wouldn't rule out rekindling a university romance, compared with only 13 per cent of women. Some have even taken the plunge with 39 per cent of men getting back with an old university flame after bumping into them by chance.
But Dex and Emma it turns out are quite unusual with only 16 per cent of Edinburgh graduates finding love there and only a quarter of these leading to marriage. But 27 per cent of Edinburgh graduates said they followed in the footsteps of Emma and Dex by rekindling a relationship with a fellow student years later.
