Warner Bros casting Superman faster than a speeding bullet - and here's why

Anderson Davis officialsitepic2.jpgAT the start of this month, director Zack Snyder revealed he hadn't even thought about casting the next Superman movie yet.

He did emphasise, though, that it was a reboot unrelated to all previous movies - which was effectively a fatal dose of kryptonite for the campaign to reinstall Brandon Routh in the role.

Just a couple of weeks after that earlier conversation, it's being reported that Snyder has launched his search for the new Superman.

Along with producer Christopher Nolan, he is on the hunt for an actor aged 28 to 32 who is either totally unknown or in a minor TV role; in other words, not a familiar face. Of course, someone with heavy TV show commitments is likely to be unavailable for putting on the cape and tights.

According to Deadline, the studio expects to look at hundreds of actors. Beyond the devoted calls for Brandon Routh or Tom Welling to get the part, fan buzz has focused on Armie Hammer, who is only 24, and Jon Hamm, who is 39. Neither fits the stated age range.
