HUMPTY DUMPTY 3D Gets A New Producer!

                              

                                         

Whoa this was fast! Just a few says ago we told y'all that David R. Ellis' Humpty Dumpty 3D had fizzled a little but would have a graphic novel on the way(click here). Today we got word that Harvey Lowry of Drac Studios has joined the team to executive produce the film with previously mentioned Mark Ordesky and Suzanne de Passe with Ellis still directing. Can you imagine how wild this movie will be with Ellis at the helm?

Synopsis:

 
Humpty Dumpty is a horrifyingly original new take on an old familiar character! Two backwoods redneck brothers are confronted with a dangerous egg-shaped creature whose mother they torture and kill for fun. Half-human, half-alien, Humpty Dumpty exacts his bloody, murderous rage on the brothers in an unforgettable story of revenge.

John Travolta in talks to Play John Gotti

It's being reported that John Travolta is in serious talks to play New York City Mob Boss John Gotti in a new biopic named Gotti that will most likely end up being directed by Nick Cassavetes. Marc Fiore, the CEO of Fiore Films says they would love to have him in the movie, and adds that "he’s a terrific actor. John Gotti, Sr. — he’s an icon. And so is Travolta … The Gottis have an image already. People know who they are. You can’t just be a good actor, you have to be a great actor who can become John Gotti.”

I guess I could see why someone would want Travolta playing Gotti in the film, but he's such a big name actor that I wouldn't see Gotti--I would only see Travolta being Travolta. This role needs to be played by an actor that can lose himself in the role, and I've never seen Travolta do that. 

The project was announced back in September, and the plan is to begin production next year.

Here is a bit of background on John Gotti:

Gotti was born in 1964 in Brooklyn, with his mother attempting to shield him and his three siblings from their father's life of crime. As a young man, Gotti worked in trucking and construction but eventually worked his way up within the Gambino crime family and became a "made man" in 1988.

The younger Gotti served jail sentences of about nine years for a variety of charges, including racketeering, gambling and loan sharking, but was never convicted as a defendant in four racketeering prosecutions between 2004 and 2009. He asserts he's turned his life around and believes that a feature film is a good means to move beyond his past.Read More...

Milton Levine, Inventor Of The Ant Farm, Dead At Age 97

Milton Levine, founder of the science toy company Uncle Milton and inventor of the iconic ant farm habitat, died on January 16, Gifts and Decorative Accessories reports.  He was 97.

Levine was married for 65 years to wife Mauricette, and is survived by children Steve, Ellen and Harriet Levine. Steve and Ellen have been involved in running the company since Milton's retirement in the 1980s. The company was sold to a private equity company in 2010.

 According to the Wall Street Journal, Levine's first encounters with ants were when he made mini-terrariums of them in Mason jars on his uncle's farm. The company, however, is not named for that uncle -- rather, Levine named it that because people often asked him if he was in the ant business, where was the uncle? He wrote a book called Ant Facts and Fantasies in 1970.

NY Daily News reports:

Levine was watching ants during a Fourth of July picnic in Studio City in 1956 when he was reminded of collecting ants in jars as a child, Levine told the Times in 2002.

He recalled announcing: "We should make an antarium."
