Amado Villanueva Hidalgo is 60 years old and single. He lives with his 11 year old son. He wants the loan to help with his farm. Specifically, it is for his coffee crop. His plan is to buy supplies like natural fertilizer, chemical fertilizer, and herbicides to give his coffee crop adequate maintenance. This way he will obtain a better quality and get greater income at harvest time.This is not his first loan with Fudescosur. He is very happy with the services they have always given him. Amado has one and a half hectares of coffee planted. He has been a farmer for several years.In the future he hopes to give his son an education, a better quality of life, and greater economic stability. Microfinance - Claudio Condori Joyas : Peru

Claudio is 45-years old and married. He belongs to the "Once de Mayo-Huancarani" community bank, which is a part of Asociacion Arariwa. Claudio buys livestock in the town of Huncarani and then sells the meat in Cosnipata (one of the districts of Paucartambo). This has been his job for 10 years and he has done very well thanks to his strong work ethic. Claudio is a hard-working father who is requesting a loan of 1900 soles which he will use to purchase additional livestock (including three sheep) as well as potatoes, dried potatoes, beans, and wheat. He is extemely thankful for this loan opportunity and he commits himself to pay back the loan on schedule. (The district of Huancarani is one of the 6 districts of the Paucartambo province, located in the department of Cuzco, within the region of Cuzco, Peru).

Microfinance - Mrs. Near Soeng Village Bank Group : Cambodia

This village bank loan has nine people who all live in Kandal village in Kandal province. Mrs. Near Soeng is a village bank president who has been selected by all the loan members, who use the loan for different purposes. She is a farmer who owns a small piece of land to cultivate rice for supporting her family. Her husband, Mr. Hung Horm, is a construction laborer. In the rice field, they have had some problems because it has a lot of insects and it is far from an irrigation system. Thus, Mrs. Near Soeng decided to ask for a loan to buy pesticides and will use the rest of the loan to buy fuel to improve the production of rice. She is a mother of three children, one of whom is a laborer, while the others are attending a local public school.
